Default Need Natchitoches info

My husband was born and raised in Natchitoches until he was 13, and now we are considering moving back with our 3 daughters from Illinois. It doesn't seem like either of us will have a hard time finding work, but I can't seem to find any info online as to where to find a decent house for rent. I can't find local classifieds or a local paper online. I checked all the local realtor sites and property management companies. You would think a college town would have some resources for rental houses.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much, any help is appreciated!

Try here: Natchitoches Home Rentals, Homes for Rent in Natchitoches LA, Apartments, Houses for Rent, and Rental Homes in Natchitoches, Louisiana or
Natchitoches Rental Homes and Apartments - Directory of Natchitoches Rental Houses, Condos, Sublets, and Apartments For Rent Direct
Not much out there, that I can find. You might contact the Chamber of Commerce.

The Natchitoches Times is not currently online.

Thanks for the advice, I think I have been to every rental site and found nothing. I had thought of contacting Chamber of Commerce, that's a good idea!

Default is this possible?

i am so aggravated!

i did get some good info from the natchitoches chamber of commerce, but nothing that does me much good if i am not there in town. i am having no luck finding any kind of employment or houses for rent online. not even the thrifty nickel or craigslist had anything good...i also checked monster, yahoojobs, and careerbuilder.

my husband's cousin is mailing us a copy of the the local classifieds to see if we have any luck with that, and i have been on the LA dept. of civil service site to check for jobs at NSU (not much available right now), but that's as much as i've found. i think i remember now why we decided years ago not to move there. because if you don't live there, it's impossible to get the information you need to move there!

does anyone have any other suggestions that i might have missed??

thanks so much!

Is it impossible to live in Natchitoches, short answer YES!

What are the ages of your daughters?
Are they old enough to attend Natchitoches Central High School or you will put them in St. Mary's? (seems to steadily go down each year)

but try
www.laworks.net/ (broken link)

should have something for you,

i couldn't open the link you sent. my daughters are 3,9 and 13, and what school they will go to there is of great concern to my husband. he doesn't think the public school system is so great there from what he remembers.

otherwise, i have resorted to having my husbands cousin photocopy and mail us copies of the local paper the natchitoches times, which had everything i was looking for and has been the only useful resource i have found so far. if we find interesting housing, i will just have his cousin go take a look and send us some pics to avoid us having to drive down every weekend.

but thanks so much for the input, i really appreciate it!!

I would suggest not living IN natchitoches. I lived there in college, and it was a soo hard to find a home in town. There are some areas around there, though, not in the middle of town that are easier to find.

They have a hard time out there with people just calling and needing something though, with college students and all, so they don't give much info if you can't be there with an agent.

I hope you find what you need!
