Default To insulate my new patio cover or not ~ input?

Looking for advice whether to insulate my recently covered patio slab. I built a cover (wood 2X6 joists, new roof on house...) going to the ridge of my house, covering a good portion of the existing roof and now have a great covered patio. I'm thinking about insulating (R19 fiber glass) it to reduce heat from the sun beating down but #1 concerned if condensation is an issue and #2 it is worth it in general. Anyone have experience /advice on this?

Don't you know I can't find the site, but there is one that actually gives recommendations specific to Louisiana residents. I'm not sure, but I think it may have been the LSU ag center. I was surprised to find that a vapor barrier was optional for the attic insulation because of the humid climate. It is required for exterior walls, however.

Honestly, I wouldn't insulate over the patio. It may only serve to trap hot air unless you vent the cover.

Disclaimer: I'm a DIY, not a roofer so definately get other opinions and Google
