Thumbs up New observations of Toledo Bend.

Am headed to Toledo Bend next month for about 2.5 weeks. The lake has lots of water in it. It actually got to over 173, which is 1 foot over full pool.
The SRA was able to make lots of bucks generating power as they released all that water. That will help ease any pressure to take the lake too far down again and the new legislation requires they keep water levels up.

Real estate is really popping on the lake. I have written before about bargains that can be found--well, you had better hurry up already! Prices are going up. New subdivisions are in the works. But there are still some good buys on waterfront.

I understand fishing has been great and the lake is getting lots of bass tournament action.

I think back about 1.5 years ago when all were despairing about the death of the Big-T with record low water levels. Since then legislation has passed to keep the SRA from taking the lake too far down and lots of rain have popped the lid on water levels.

If you are thinking of retiring on the lake--get your fannie in gear and get something before prices go up more. There was no real estate bubble and the market is healthy from what I understand.
