Hey, How were the lovebugs over there? We didn't have hardly any come out here in Florida, I thought that they would be strong this year because of the rain, but I haven't seen any.
I was just wondering if you guys had any?

Honestly, I didn't have a problem this spring, unless I drove out of the city. But even then, they weren't as bad as i remember them being. I think I saw them the worst over around Bay St. Louis, MS a good month or so ago.

in the spring and early summer, lovebug swarms in Lafayette are pretty insane.

Youre right actually. this year wasnt nearly so bad as usual. It is kind of weird really. Around this time every year there are usually thick clouds of bugs coating everything for months. this year Ive seen maybe 2 swarm.

I live off of Old Hammond near Jefferson in Baton Rouge and my backyard was literally under attack by lovebugs this year. There were easily millions of them in my backyard, but my neighbors had almost none. It was the worst I've ever seen it at my house.

You must have had something in your yard that they liked. haha.
I'm literally right around the corner from you on Jefferson and I didn't see many at all (aside from the occasional two or three landing on my car or body when i stopped moving).
But I can imagine mosquitos are the same way, very territorial depending on their environment.

LOL! It was an example of extreme love only for you from the lovebugs.

I noticed the love bugs immediately after Gustav passed. I don't know how they made it through, but I guess they did just to spite us.
As of last weekend, I noticed some good swarms of them on the highways north of here heading into Mississippi. Heading west to Texas, didn't have a problem.
