CaliValley is on a distinguished road
My hubby and I found a home on Olive St in Shreveport that looks promising for us to buy cheap and re-build later to our way of wanting. (He's air force so we can't exactly move to it right now, we'd have to rent it out until we could live there.) But, the only thing it talks about on the military website we found it on is the distance to Barksdale AFB! We have a small child and another pretty much "here," is this a good area to live with said family? By the way it's a under a $100 grand for a 2bd/1ba 1,165 sq ft home on a lot of 7,555 sq ft. And after living in CA almost all our lives, we can not believe the price! That would buy us some land or a mobile home!!

Having grown up in Broadmoor (AC Steere, Youree, Byrd and Captain Shreve - all great school) I was surprised when we returned how things haven't changed. It's almost like the area is in a time warp! The only difference in the area from when I grew up is many of the house have brass mailboxes and brass plates at the bottom of their front doors. We are settling on a house in North Bossier for several reasons. 1. Flexibility to downtown (work), 2. less crime than across the river, 3. The neighborhood is a very quiet and (appears) to be secure.
