Default Looking to move to Baton rouge, but want a safe neighborhood as i am very Paranoid.
Was looking around on the internet and found a nice older place in Westdale Heights Neighborhood off of College drive that is right across the street from the WEB park. Can anyone give me any imformation on this area as far as crime and taxes and just a feel of the neighborhood.

It's an established area of town and I would say home prices are stable. The area is fairly safe; however, the Valley Park area is nearby and can lead to some foot-traffic. The current millage rate is 1.12% of the appraised value of the home - 75,000 (homestead exemption). For example, if you buy a home for $175,000, you only pay property taxes on $100,000x.0112; which equals $1,120.
