Default Songs About Louisiana

I found info at yahoo.com **Songs About Louisiana" There are several that come up-- along with the lyrics to go with them. Don't forget, this Tuesday is Mardi Gras in Louisiana and anywhere else that loves parades, catching beads and having a great time. Yummy king cake...Great parades in New Orleans and other cities as well as small towns. Parades began rolling last weekend and will continue until Tuesday at midnight. That's when Mardi Gras season ends until next year*****

What are some Louisiana-related songs you can think of?

Here's what I can come up with:

"City of New Orleans" (I know only the Arlo Guthrie version)

"Callin' Baton Rouge" Garth Brooks

"Thibodaux, Louisiana" Marcia Ball

"Crescent City," "Lake Charles," "Bus to Baton Rouge" Lucinda Williams

"Louisiana Blues" Muddy Waters

"Louisiana Rain" Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

"I Wish I Was in New Orleans" Tom Waits

"Down at the Twist and Shout" Mary Chapin Carpenter

(someone please correct me if any of that's inaccurate)

Not sure if anyone already posted it though but this was my song growing up.

"Louisiana Saturday Night" by Benjy Davis Project. Note, that is not the same "LA Saturday Night" that has been mentioned already. It is a much younger, more rockish song with completely different lyrics.

Also "Desperately Wanting" by Better Than Ezra. It doesn't mention Louisiana in particular, but they're a bunch of LSU boys and it's a song about fraternity pledging at LSU.
