Question Carylss, Hackberry, Sulphur Info Please

We are looking into relocating to one of these areas, but I do not know if there are rentals. Hubby is a Sr. Citizen and I can find a job doing something if there are any available in my field, which is support staff medical/general office. I could prolly substitute teach with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with English, Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology as my focii. I would have to have a house or mobile home because I have 5 toy poodle children. I cant seem to find any rental ads from the one paper I have been able to find online and since we are dirt poor, buying is out of the question. Hubby is due a small settlement from an on the job injury and this would be our seed money. Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions or resources I could follow up on ? Thanks a bunch, yall. I appreciate your help.

You'd be hard pressed to find that type of job in Hackberry or even Carlyss really. You should be able to find something in Sulphur. I'm really not sure about rentals or how far you want to drive to work or what type of enviroment you are looking for. Sulphur is more of a small city with all the modern ammenities. Hackberry is the total opposite. Carlyss is more of a bedroom community of Sulphur.

Have you checked the Lake Charles American Press? They would probably have to most information on rentals in the area. Hackberry is a more "word of mouth" type place which is hard to do from far away. My best advice would be to move to Sulphur and visit Carlyss and Hackberry. See if you'd like to live there. Then get to know some local people who can point you in the right direction.
