Default Moving to Bossier City area soon

Can anyone help me to find housing in Bossier City? My husband and I are planning to relocate from California with our two small children. I don't want to live in an apartment, condo etc. Need something affordable in good school district. Any help would be great, thanks.

How big do you need? Most areas in north Bossier, Haughton, and south Bossier have a variety of sizes of SFHs and price ranges. Maybe SBC metroguy will chime in on this. He usually has accurate up to date info on these matters. I can speak for south Bossier. Housing usually runs anywhere from 140 up to around 200k for say 1500 sq ft. Depends largely on the age of the home, obviously newer ones will cost more. 2000-3000 sq ft can run from 220-400k. The schools in south Bossier are excellent. Traffic can be tough at times, but you having lived in Cali know much worse than we do. I hope I've helped you. The rest of Bossier is best left up to SBC metroguy.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, I need to rent for now. Any area outside of SBC would be fine to as long as I can get to Shreveport fairly quikly for work. Thanks for your help. Traffic is not much of a concern as you said its pretty bad here.

Dogwood subdivison would be ideal. There are new apartments in the same area. I know it's on Stockwell Rd. I'm just not sure of the name. On that same street is the best elementry school to go to and when they leave there ,they go to great middle and highschool's. Hope this helps

I think the ones you're talking about are Stockwell Landing. Very nice apartments.

Sometimes you can find nice rental homes in Dogwood too. If you don't want to live in an apartment, but to be honest, that's what we are doing right now until we learn the area again. The parking can be horrible at apartment complext though. Another sugguestion, before I start saying something 3rd and 4th handed - go to Apt. com (I think that's the website) and search for tennant comments. That site provided us with some very useful information before signing a lease. Good luck

I highly agree with the Stockwell area suggestion, especially since you have 2 small children. It's one of the best public school districts. You're right off of I-220 or I-20, so you can get to Shreveport quickly if need be. Try MilitarybyOwner.com - Real Estate near U.S. Military Bases for housing. There's houses to rent or buy on there, just pick LA and then Barksdale AFB and it will show you all of the available houses. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your move!
