Default Hurricane Ike / Lake Charles

Hi everyone! I'm watching the news and it looks like part of Ike will hit the Lake Charles area. Does anyone have any news? All the cable news channels keep talking about is Galveston, TX.

Thanks!

Default lake charles flooding

i talked to my parents who just got back to their house along the contraband bayou. this bayou rose to ground level and beyond, flooding homes and businesses that weren't too far inland (you can see photos online of bennigan's and inn on the bayou which got flooded). flooding from lake charles goes itself goes from the lake up to sallier street (railroad track), which includes st. louis high school, st. patrick's hospital and all the homes in between. so, the most concern in this area should be for anyone living along a waterway - lake or bayou.

Wow! The area I'm concerned about is right at 12th and Common Street, which I don't think is too far from the rail road tracks. If I remember correctly, there is a Kroger and Dollar General near there... does anyone know is those businesses are open or okay?
