Cool Relocating Job is at Port of Shreveport-BossierCity

There is a possible relocation to the Shreveport-Bossier City area in the near future. The job is with the same company my husband presently works for and they have talked to him about possibly relocating in the next 2-3 months. We would like to be within 15-30 minutes of the port. Would like to have a house with at least a couple of acres, in a good school district. We have one son that will be moving with us that is presently in
8th grade. He is a baseball player and we would like to be in an area where baseball is avaiable possibly year round. He does play other sports if he can't play baseball year round. We would also like to be in an active community where the people are friendly and not snobbish. We have enough of that where we are now. I know this seems like a lot of criteria, but any information the most important thing beeing the schools. Thanks for all of your help

Hi
What price range and size home are you looking for? Once we establish this then we can go from there. Yes there are some homes with acreage available not too far from the port. Schools would be University, Youree Dr. and Capt Shreve which is a good district.

Default Home Price range

Our price range up to 200,000 3-4 bedroom 2 bath. From what I have seen it looks like You can get a nice house for that price range. or Can it?

Yes you can do it at that price. The acreage tacked on may cost a little more depending exactly on the location. You would want to look around SE Shreve for those possibilities since the port is located there. Two places near would be Barron Rd; lots of nice homes with acreages. Ellerbe is too expensive. Dixie Gardens would be nice, it is next to Shreveport but is not in the city limits; it is an unincorporated community. You may find something there with a couple acres, its not pricey, homes are older but well maintained. Safe area. I apologize for getting back to you so late.

there are plenty of nice neighborhoods located just 4 miles from the port. Most people would believe location wise, in Shreveport, that this area is the best. Good Luck! P.S Check out Town South
