Default Where to live in Lafayette

Where are the areas someone should consider living in or around Lafayette? Also do homes have swimming pools in this area? If not any idea on cost to put one in?

I see so many surrounding cities just curious where to look and which to avoid. Pricing 150-275 (wide spread I know but not certain what one has to pay for a 2000 sqft home)

Please help quickly needing to visit.

The current popular area is to the southern end of Lafayette Parish. However, many homes in this area are somewhat expensive depending on exact location. One of the most expensive of these areas is River Ranch which is a community development project. Now to the northern end of the parish and just beyond the parish border is some fine property for a lower price. The down side is it's distance from the main shopping area of Lafayette. The advantage is lower insurance due to distance from the coastal areas. Homes around here do have swimming pools but you have to shop around for them or have them installed.
