Default Moving!!

Hi all!! I have been offered a job in lake charles at the casino. I have never been to la. I have been looking online at schools and homes in the area (married with 4 kids). Any help with the surrounding areas to maybe call my new home would be great. I am probably looking to rent first until i get alittle more comfortable with the area. However i am looking forward to the southern hospitality considering that i am from michigan and there is not to much of that here!! Thanks again.

I used to live in the Lake Charles Area. The best areas to live in anywhere South of the 210 Loop $$, or the Moss Bluff areas just north of I-10 $$$$ about 15 min drive into Lake Charles, or west of Lake Charles in the Sulphur area $$. Those areas were the safest areas to live crime wise. Schools are ok in those areas. Rental homes in those areas are hard to find due to demand for those areas. I do miss the area havent lived there since 2000, but I live not far (Lafayette area) and still visit often.
