Default Other LOUISIANA cities/towns with the NewOrleans LOOK?

Are there any other Louisiana cities or towns that have the NEW ORLEANS look? Meaning, the architecture, the smells, people-oriented - easy to walk everywhere, etc.?

The small city of Natchitoches, an hour south of Shreveport, is the oldest city in Louisiana and the architecture is extremely similar to that in New Orleans. And since it's a very small city, the downtown is very walkable. If going to Natchitoches, try Googling for information about street festivals, because going there during such a time really adds to the atmosphere.

Default natchitoches

Went to Natchitoches for the first time this year. Other than the one street of shops by the riverfront, what else is there to do there? Did I miss anything???

Good question. I would say you didn't miss anything. This is why I mentioned in my reply to Tiger Beer that he should look into going during a festival. Because to be honest I have done my fair share of walking around downtown Natchitoches and been mostly bored. During festivals, however, it's quite nice. The only saving grace for me is the fact that I can walk around and look at architecture on buildings for quite a while. Outside of that, Natchitoches seems lacking to me on an average day.
