Anole is on a distinguished road
Default Cane River Creoles

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the show that was broadcast on the PBS station about the Cane River Creoles last night. As a native to Louisiana, I have never really understood the term "creole". So many things have been described as creole that I thought the term was pretty much overused. The show brought home a theme about a culture in which the individuals had to make some hard decisions about being pegged as black or white. They were neither-they wanted to be known as creole but the powers that be thought otherwise. Their perseverance to keep their cultural identity through tough times is inspiring. Check it out if you get the chance.
