Default Any German groups or German Stores/Eateries in SBC?

Looking for info for my wife; you guessed it, she's from Germany and while excited to be moving to SBC, she hopes she can find a bit of "home" from time to time. Is/are there any German restaurants or food stores with German products in SBC? What about groups?

Thanks,
Wendell

There is an area of Minden called Germantown, which was an original German settlement. But as far as German eateries and such in this region, unfortunately I think you're out of luck. Maybe someone will prove me wrong, but I've never noticed such a place. Sorry... if only she were Greek or Asian! (sorry, that was a half-assed joke)

You might try Immanuel Lutheran Church on Airline Dr. in BC. I believe the pastor of the church is native German as the church had a German language communion at Christmas. Also I think if I'm not mistaken they had an Oktoberfest there as well. Try them, maybe they can help. Texas hill country, parts of northern Arkansas have some German restaurants and festivities.

By the way, Hot Springs, AR is a nice little getaway 3 hours north of Shreveport where I go at least once, sometimes twice, each year. They have a German restaurant in their quaint little downtown. That town is very small but it's a tourist town so they have a bit of everything it seems. If you ever head up there, it's worth a try.
