Just like it hit hard when people spoke negative about Lafayette. The people of that area spoke so strong and defended it to the max of 14 pages and so on, im sure. I use to look at Lafayette and shrug once in my life. It wasnt until maybe 8 years ago people started mentioning Lafayette more than usual. Im sure there were still many people at that time saying whatever, Lafayette is a sandlot. But.....passionate people, similar to myself, continued to believe and speak of the area positively to the point people started paying attention. Got the attention of people who can actually make a difference.....and eventually did make a big difference from ten years ago.

Im no different. Its not that I have an inferior complex, its more of proud complex. Im happy and proud of Monroe, LA to the point I want to talk about it. Im excited and overwhelmed that times are different not only for Monroe, LA, but Louisiana period. I do recognize I am going against the grain, but as a human in this world, waking up morning is going againt the grain. If you gonna wake up to face all of that, why stop at the grains, take the whole f****** field, and dont look back.

Sorry Innotech, My name reflects my personality, Louisiana Legend, one who dared to loved what most dont love, influencing others to do the same while doing so. Superior Louisiana!!!
Im not saying you cant defend and enjoy and be proud of your city. The problem we all have is you try to actl ike monroe is the be all end all of cities or osmething and worse, put down any city that isnt Monroe. Us in Lafayette have not done that, neither have those in BR or Shreveport/Bossier. WE talk about our cities with pride WITHOUT putting down the other ones. That is why I mentioned an inferiority complex. Im not even saying Monroe is inferior, but you act as though you almost think it is and have to overcompensate for it.

If someone ask how my city is I give them the pros and cons and you want hear me talking about another city while someone is asking about my area, but you really have a complex on this website. You just make a fool out of the fourms you write on sometimes. Someone out there please start a fourm on why Lafayette and S Louisiana sucks so Legend can get his or her shine on please. And to all the rest of the normal Monroe people, that terrain and the area up there sounds intersting to visit, a real contrast from South of I 10, I would love to visit one day. (And for you legend, if someone down here did you something that rubbed you the wrong way.. On behalf of the whole bottom half of the boot Je suis désolé(We are sorry Legend) LOL
Not at all, its all in trying to spice the forum up, its gotten a little boring. Im very informative at times, but I like to keep it interesting.

Let me enlighten you on something, Im an artist. One of my biggest heartbreaking moments as a child came from a art show at the "Masur Museum of Art" (in Monroe). After countless hours, weeks, 2 mths of working hard on this art project which I thought was a masterpiece, I was disappointed to watch people appear as though the gave my artwork a courtesy glance. Im like, "What!!! thats a masterpiece why'd you pass by so soon?"

Well that hurt my little 6th grade feelings, but I learned from it. From then on I tried to always paint the biggest, most vibrant, mysterious picture ever in order to force people to stare at it like...."what in the world is this, what was he thinking, why did he do it like that?" It worked and I won first place in my category from 7th to 11th, best of show 3 times. If you really think about it, I do the same writing post.

Im a marketing/graphic design major now. Now I can truely paint a picture and make it persuasive enough to influence people for a certain cause like visit the UNBELIEVEABLY, FABULOUS, BUTTERY, MONROE, LA!!!! You cannot tell me thats not effective?

On the flipside, I have fairly done my part to fit the city-data standards. I give great input about every event, happenings, and a city's data. I respect everyones opinion and I enjoy this site very much.

I have much love for every city in Louisiana. It is seriously not my intention to put down another city to pump up mine, I promise. If I mention another city in Louisiana in my posts its only to make a special comparision to something familar in order to give you guys a better understanding of what you can possibly experience here in Monroe. I look up to those cities I mention, I never said anything too bad about other cities in Louisiana to make a big fuss about it, most of it are jokes anyway. The replies that come in effect of it are the most imformative of most of the post to me anyway. I just want real answers, no quick replies, I like to dig deep and if it takes a jab for you guys to punch harder with your answers, so be it, knock me out, its good for the forum. I do find myself literally laughing out loud, especially tonite in this thread.

As for the buttery..... Monroe is a flavorful substance that sticks to you? I cant quite think of anything clever at this time of nite, so I'll justify it by simply saying I think its catchy, I just took it ran with it. Now butter up too it!! Monroe, LA.........The city of buttery Love?
