Question New Job in Shreveport

I am a college student in New Orleans. I've been offered a well-paying summer job in Shreveport. It is a door-to-door pest control sales job. But I heard that it might be illegal to go selling door-to-door in Shreveport. I obviously don't want to have any issues if I take the job. Does anyone know if what I heard is correct, or if it is enforced?

Please help me!

Call the Shreveport police department and ask them if a permit is needed. Many cities require permits or registration for door-to-door salespeople.

Also, carefully check out the company you'll be working for. Not all of them are legitimate. Call the attorney general's office in the state where they are headquartered and ask them if there have been any complaints.
