Describe what 'southern comforts' means to you
Down south, we all refer to 'southern comforts' as things that make us happy, content. I'd love to hear what 'southern comforts' means to you out there. What type food? What type atmosphere? That kind of stuff...

YUMMMMM! And the cornbread is especially good when it's made in an iron skillet!

How about front porches, too? And the rumble of summer thunder right before it rains?

Depends on the time of year:
February-May: Crawfish boils
May-August: Golf from dawn until dark, then bbq ribs
September-January: A full keg of beer and LSU football

Spring - tulips, buttercups(wild daffodils), dogwood in full bloom and working up the dirt to plant tomatoes, strawberries with homemade whipped creme and pound cake
Summer- cookouts with friends and neighbors, local soft ball games, homemade ice cream on the front porch, a swing under a tree, fresh vegetables, fried okra,
Fall - hometown football, bonfires and hayrides, chicken and dumplins, apple crisp, county fair
Winter - snuggling in front of the fire, christmas pagants, open houses during holidays, boiled custard with a little "Southern Comfort" whiskey for flavor, carrot cake, chicken and dressing

Crawfish, king cake, mild winters and that's about it. There aren't too many things about the south that I actually like.
