Default how safe do you feel in your town?

We have been talking crime today just got me thinking about how safe do you feel in your town or home? Me personally I feel very safe because I stay home by my self all week and no one has ever bothered me! But if something did happen I feel even safer knowing I know how to use a shotgun!! Shoot first ask questions later!

I guess I don't feel too safe or maybe just being careful. I have a concealed weapon permit and usually carry a pistol. Ther's a lot of good people out there but there's a lot of bad ones 2. Some that would just as soon kill you as not. If you don't belive me, watch the news.

I grew up in Bossier, and even though I lived in a fairly rough area, I always felt mostly safe except when I put myself in harm's way.

In Shreveport I mostly feel safe, but not always. I work in Cedar Grove, which is an extremely bad neighborhood, and I eat lunch at establishments in that neighborhood on a daily basis and have never had any problems (thankfully). Not everyone is as fortunate as most of those businesses in that area have been the scene of at least one homicide in recent years, but so far I've always been safe. *knocks on wood*

I live in Haughton now, and I often have to take the trash out at midnight or later and always feel safe. But I also have a Pit Bull and a Doberman, so I can't imagine feeling unsafe even if my neighborhood were to change overnight. Though I do not see that happening, because my neighborhood is mostly military people and people employed within the oil and gas industry.

Lafayette feels reasonable safe. I can drive around at night most places without fear and my neighborhood is pretty good. The murder rate isnt bad and a lot of areas are being refurbished right now. the city is moving forward in a positive manner.

I've never felt unsafe. I am more cautious or aware of my surroundings in a few areas, but I still feel safe.

I have lived in quite a few different cities and have never felt unsafe. Call me crazy or naive, but I just like to believe in the good in people.

When I moved to Chicago, it took some getting used to because of all the foot traffic in front of my place (there is rarely a 5 minute period where someone doesn't walk past my house). My dog still hasn't gotten used to it, he's on edge and bristly all the time.
