Need to find a place to rent in Alexandria ASAP! (Pineville: apartments, for rent)

I checked out apartments this past weekend, and everything's either 20+ years old and moldy - or new, expensive and booked/full.

I need a place to live for the next 6 months while I finish school at UIU Alexandria campus over there by the Learning Center.

Anybody have any advice for me? Maybe know someone with a house they aren't using that I could rent for 600/mo? (maybe someone trying to sell their house, who is tired of not getting any rent payment to help with the mortgage.

I don't want to pay too much, I'm running on student loans and stuff, and putting my web biz on hold till I finish school, so the $$$ is tight right now.

any help is appreciated!!!!

Just need a place to live in a good neighborhood with no crime, preferrably close to the Learning Center. Thank you

The Town Talk has a list of some houses and apartments for rent; I can't think of any houses in particular that are for rent right now.

For cheap houses to rent in a safe area, you might have to look outside of Alexandria. Houses for rent in good Alexandria neighborhoods tend to be expensive. You might be able to find something in the Pineville-Tioga-Ball area.
