Forest Hill is about 15-20 miles SW of Alexandria on US 165 (Masonic Dr).

Abayle,
Do you know of any rent houses out by you? And if so can you give me any info on them? It is very hard to find anything deceit in this area, and I'm looking at moving here in two weeks with my wife and 3 kids.
Thanks,
Terry

They are just babies - 3, almost 5, and 7. I recently learned that they do classes for homeschoolers once a month (I think) at the zoo. I haven't found any other homeschoolers either.

Abby loves the Jonas Bros. and takes a hip hop dance class. Typical Teen I guess, but probably a little more innocent from being home with me... She needs more friends here becuase all we do is neighborhood stuff, youth group and school at home -not a lot of oppty. for tons of friendships. Where did you say your husband would be working? Mine is re-building the military housing at Ft. Polk. Good luck in your move. I have found everyone to be super friendly-now I am a southerner so I guess I fit right in. It's like we've been here forever now...

Hey...sorry i didnt get back to ya right away...my mom passed away from cancer 2 weeks ago....so been working thru that, still hard.
omg...your abby and my rhianna would sooooo get along...rhianna is 13 1/2...and soooo loves the Jonas brothers....i must admit thou...i just dont see why, but i reckon my folks thought the same when i was into some new group to...lol
hubby is looking at some forest service jobs in area...we missed out on the last few, so still watching for next openings. otherwise, he is truck driver now(otr) and is a retired AF cop, so also looking at similar work with that. we are still waiting final decesion on current gov job he applied to, should know soon, he is in the final top 3.
if you want....im on myspace and facebook, ive also let kids have one, but its restricted access, if you want to PM me, i will give you my name to look up on those, and thru that, your daughter can get on my daughters, they could chat away, rhianna is bummed some cuz i restricted its access(hey...got to be safe!!) and she would love to have someone to chat to, most of her friends are away for summer, so she is bummed.
hope to see ya there and get to know ya more....well, been long day, best get going.....
back to subject.....how often do tornado warnings come up there? growing up in OK, ive been in 2 F4, thou im used to twisters, id hate to deal with them alot again, so are they a problem? sounds like electric bills will be about same as we pay here in TN, thats good, beats what we paid up north anyday!! im going to assume in winter...snow/ice isnt a issue normally? thats even better for me....could care less if i ever have to see it....lol
what kind of family things go on there, such as fairs, carnivals, ect. is there nice parks/walking trails? swimming holes? look forward to hearing more about the area, so far....still sounds like we will like it. take care all!!

oh....in regards to schools, its not so much special needs....both my daughter and youngest son had hearing trouble when young, but out grew it(problem in the ear)...so it put them behind in reading, rhianna has caught up and does great now, but cody is repeating 1st grade due to it, and is in title one and speech class due to he cant pronounce 2 sounds that mess up his reading. so basically, just need to know if schools have these programs and if they are good about making sure kids ge help when they need it. i dont want him to loose ground. thanks to anyone who might have thoughts on this there.
