Default what makes a hibiscus tree die

I bought 2 hibiscus braided trees at sams and planted them in the yard with plenty of good dirt. They were doing real well until about a week ago when the one's leaves starting turning yellow and brown and leave looked burnt. The other one is slightly whithered and a few leaves turning brown what could be the cause. It has rained a lot recently, could they have too much water?

This is a real problem with hibiscus. They are sensitive to sudden changes and to any temperatures below 50º. With our unpredictable weather, that can cause problems. When the leaves yellow rapidly and drop and the affected leaves are all over the plant, it is almost always from a sudden change and new leaves will quickly replace the old. If the yellowing is confined to the inner sections, check to make sure it is not being over-watered.

Happy Gardening

Considering your situation they may have been over watered, You may need to make sure they are not planted in an area that holds water, you may need to plant them in a raised bed that is well drained. Hibiscus do best as container plants on Patios, in well drained pots.

Dont listen to any of these people hibiscus provide a substantial amount of oil that is why they r used for conditioners and ANY BEAUTY PRODUCTS. AND I LIVE IN PHOENIX AZ AND THE HEAT DOESNT BOTHER THEM EITHER ! we get up to 115 and i will have ten flowers at a time! i flood mine every day twice a day and the key is RINSING the hole plant and leaves regularly the get oily and them cook in the sun and get yellow and crispy if u feel the leaves u will notice how oily they r just rinse them good and wipe with ur hand at the same time be careful and wash the buds and flowers to!!! u will have plate size flowers! I DO!
