Rayne seems like a wierd place for Schiltterbahn to build. I agree, north Louisiana would probably be a better draw, but who knows. I'm not much into business planning anyway. As long as it's in Louisiana, it should be a huge benefit for this state.
Never been to the one in Galveston, but the one in New Braunfels is pretty awesome. |

Wow! We love Schlitterbahn, NB, TX. Is this really true?

No one on these forums knows if it's true, and only time will tell. It's easy for people to take things for fact or to jump to conclusions, such as when people in Northwest Arkansas were "certain" that there was going to be a Disney theme park constructed there.
All you can do is speculate and let time run its course. |

I received a reply to an email from the mayor's office in Rayne that a water park will be coming to Rayne. The ground breaking will be in the spring of 2008. I don't know if it will be a Schlitterbahn or not.

I work at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels and I haven't heard anything about this. They are working on a huge Kansas City project right now so starting a new constuction in April doesn't seem like a reality. As far as location the current parks are all positioned near natural bodies of water not necessarily for the proximity to metro areas. For example the flagship park in New Braunfels is positioned on the banks of the Comal river and the original portion of the park actually operates with water cycled from the river, through the rides and back to the river. The other parks also have a similar operation, but not to the degree of the original. I guess it could happen one day, but for the time frame of the ground breaking it doesn't sound like the Schlitterbahn norm.

1. Is this even the same subject? Rayne has been discussed herein, not Lacassine.
2. Lacassine is closer to Lake Charles than Lafayette. 3. Who are you and what kind of proof can you offer that anything is even in the works, let alone possibly breaking ground this month? |

Ummm...SBC, go easy there...see the deleted message above? Hint...maybe something different is in the works, which can be talked about in general terms without getting too specific...because then it would be advertising??
