Default how to meet people near Gardner/Alex

We moved to Gardner last year, which is west of Alexandria. I homeschool my daughter, who is 14. We joined a small church. I am having a hard time meeting people, though. wondering if anyone knows of any homeschool groups (nearby, not forty five minutes away), clubs, internet forums, etc....

St Clair Baptist Church is a focal point of that community.

Have you tried the alexandriamomslikeme online forum. I think most of the moms are of babies and younger children but I think they have different age categories. There is also a section for home schoolers.
There is a home school group in Alexandria too. A lady that I know told me of a group of home school families that get together at a church and different parents teach different subjects. I think that is a good idea.
There is also a moms club, their contact email is momsclubofalexandriaarea@hotmail.com or you can contact ashleyfowler@suddenlink.net, she is the lady who does the group home schooling too.
Also, the Pineville library (martin branch) has a group of home schoolers that meet there on a certain day of the week, may be young ones again though...
Have you been to the new Westside Library off 28 west (coliseum blvd) yet? It is really nice. There are summer programs going on for kids of all ages at the libraries. Westside would probably be the closest for you, here is the link for teen summer schedule...
Rapides Parish Library - Teen Summer Workshops (The areas where there is no date listed means that it is the same date as the branch above it on the chart.)
Hope this helps a little...
