Don't know. I guess that NO and BR are the only two cities with enough post to warrant their own little links . With that said SBC should def. have one and maybe Lafayette.
From there it would be Alex, Houma/Thibodeaux, LC, and Monroe in some random order.
Did he really just say that S. Louisiana is all culture and swamp (or something similar.) See that's why we always come in 2nd to last. ONE state with at least FOUR to FIVE regions trying to keep each other in the barrel.

Monroe is looking up these days for real but has a way to go yet.
The "culture and swamp" remark I don't get. The BTR, Laf, NO triangle is getting to be a force to be reckoned with.
I love to come down for the food and drinks best of all. Good stuff!

Exactly. It's crap. But all states have those types of rivalries, such as the 4 major cities in Texas (DFW, Houston, Austin, San Antonio) and the Oklahoma City vs, Tulsa rivalry. That said, still, I do not like such rivalries. Some competition and making friendly jabs from time to time are okay, but it really is hard for a state to make progress when people from each region seem to want all others to fail.
North Louisiana and south Louisiana are quite different from one another... I don't think anyone could dispute that fact. But it is those differences that help to make our state so neat, that it can vary so much over just an hour or two drive.

Yea but don't Texas cities just mainly argue over who's better?. In LA it seems like (from my point of view, don't get offended) you have New Orleans which couldn't care less about Louisiana (where is that?) as long as they are o.k. The minute they aren't o.k. it's time to go to war with BR. (Take right now how everyone is starting to turn against BR and LSU).
Then you have Baton Rouge who seems like all they want is that "name". They want the shine, the recognition, and whatever else they can get to put them ahead of NOLA. Nothing else matters, just out do NOLA.
N. Louisiana wants to prove that they are a part of Louisiana and can hang with the southern part of the state by any means necessary.
The Northshore doesn't even know what they want/who they are. As long as anything on the Southshore doesn't prosper, they are satisfied
SW. Louisiana, I really don't know enough about them. Except that they probably write off anything north of LA-28 as Texas.
And a lot of the state as a whole seems to have a little animosity toward NOLA.
That is my rant from waking up and disregarding any facts. Some will agree, some will think that it is just as ridiculous as the OP. I'm not saying this is how it is, but is how it feels at times. Either way its a recipe for failure.

Clearly, I had to revise that ^.

Lafayette pretty much does its own thing. I think maybe the university is a bit upset over the whole University of Louisiana @ Lafayette moniker because it wants to be THE southwest Louisiana university but overall it has enough of a unique identity not to care what New Orleans or Baton rouge are doing. I think it helps that it is pretty much set apart from the BR/Nola area and has its own cultural subset and traditions and also the great Festivale International downtown that draws visitors. I do notice alot of animosity between LSU and the Saints and NOLA in general though.

I find Lafayette to be a very nice city and probably the nicest in La. Wouldn't mind living there again. Did about 20 years ago then had to move back north. I had no intention of doing that, but that's not what happened.

its a nice growing city but I think it could be a LOT nicer actually.
It needs to be cleaned up and the infrastructure needs major improvement to clear up the traffic.
