Is there a Costco anywhere in the area. Sams Club is so "Walmartish" with inferior looking merchandise.

Also is there a Whole Foods or some health type grocery where one can buy organic produce and free range chickens.

Also finally I did not see a Nordstroms or Saks anywhere Where is the closest to the city?

And is there any culture other than bars with Cajun music blaring? Sorry I feel like I am being moved to a foreign country that is unlike anywhere I have ever lived. No offense to any natives but you guys are a bit different in thinking than I am accustomer to.

Finally do you really crush and suck those creyfish heads. Yuk.
As others have said, we tend to live in the real world. I have a nicer home that a lot and I'm lucky for that. I leave my neighborhood of 250k-1mil.+ homes to find a trailer park greeting me (nothing wrong with these people) I refuse to live in a bubble.

Sam's Club carries many branded items. There are very few Sam's Club brand items! I don't know what you're talking about! I'm sorry you find it so unattractive. Its weird.

You can try local produce stands for organic food..

I can't remember Lafayette. Most Louisiana cities have small boutique store where you can find fine clothing. Baton Rouge has some nice options. So does New Orleans and Houston. I get all my nice suits at a local men's store.

I guess he doesn't like gay bars! He may not be homophobic, he just not may not enjoy the gay bar experience.

I guess my phony upity ways need to be left at my old home. Reading your replys made me think my mama would as she put it" horse-whip me for turning into a royal snob."

Diversity in economic class is probably a good thing. I have grown to love my ivory tower and princess attitude but it sounds like I need a major readjustment to "fit-in" to this community. No Ritz high-tea in the area but probably lots of that Abita beer will suffice.

I just found a Steinmart listed and that will do for shopping and if I get the urge I will go to New Orleans to shop. My husband is probably quiet happy to get me out of the big city mentality and will save him tons of money which we all must do in this economic mess Obama has thrown us all into. I just hope this area is highly republican or I may have a melt down.

I will buy chickens from the local farmers, go to meat markets, and hit your farmers markets for fresh produce.

If you see a lady running rabid down the street with a crawfish sticking out of her mouth wearing Walmart clothes and chasing a chicken you will know it is me.

Thanks for redefining what is real in life.

If you still want to live that way, River Ranch is designed for it, complete with ludicrous pricing. Ive noticed a few modern subdivisions with "brick walls" in front popping up around town recently so you may want to check those out as well. The city has a lot of older 70-80s style homes that are still in great condition and these older neighborhoods are great places to meet people.

Yes this area heavily leans Republican and you will see more pickup trucks and SUVs than you have ever seen in your life.

By the way, do you attend any churches?

I know the asking prices are higher than what they are really selling for. A lot of new RR homes out. I really like them and they inspire my current home which double the size. They have a lot of great techniques.

I like the smallness of the homes and the colors. However, if put such a unique home on my lot, it would look funny.

Also, how can you not love a kitchen like this:

I built home in the French Acadian style.. but not as good as this!
