the traffic is horrendous.

i can deal with the different viewpoints of the people here, but these inconsiderate drivers make my blood boil.

Try going to Houston for a short time and traffic here seems like nothing.

I'd rather live in Lafayette than San Antonio....call my city a dump.....maybe you should have posted before you came and asked for some advice on what to see/do......I've been all over this country....all over the south...and there is NO better place than right here in Lafayette....

Lafayette is a great town but there is blight. Visitors getting off the highway get a nice view of crackville unless they get off on Louisiana Ave, Amb Caffery or Scott.

The older exits into town off the interstate give an impression that isn't representative of the entire town but the crackville areas DO exist... and that is a very run down. It does look like a dump in many areas. No civic pride. Period.

Just because we love the place doesn't mean everyone else takes pride in our great city.

Litterbugs should be beaten with a stick. That'll teach them because existing laws are doing nothing.

there really needs to be a southern loop around the city, to get to the areas like Kaliste Saloom and lower Ambassador. Its night and day difference from the rundown I49/Evangeline corridor.

Lafayette stop talking and clean up your living room if your den and bedrooms are clean

Lafayette is trying, but the living room residents keep fighting it.
They have been trying to get the I49 THruway project done for years with no success.

I lived in lafayette for a long time. I find the place cool. Breaux Bridge have the best coffee shop I ever saw and where else you can eat breakfast to cajun/Zodeco and dance too but in breaux bridge at the Cafe des Amis. Only place in the world you can do that. You missed many places you can dance cajun in lafayette too. check them out on google there a lot of places like the Blue moon . Here a link you can look up on the web
Lafayette, Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco Dance Schedule
lot of fun there.
now as for the houses and all it just not old stuff like there is in lake Charles or Baton rouge but the food is better and lot of places to dance if you like that. Got more festivals than any other town i know in louisiana too
