It was moreso anecdotal and/or funny stories to tell than anything legitimate. However, the subject existed in the general ether of southeast LA.

Anywhere else, not so much.

No, they and we all prefer that they stay 6ft or more below sea level.

I think all that's played up for tourists and Hollywood seems to really believe it especially movies like the Skeleton Key which is complete fiction and nowhere near the truth.

At the very least I grew up in the New Orleans suburbs (Metairie) and now live in the BR area and I don't know a single person who believes in voodoo or hoodoo. A few Pentecostals who speak in tongues, yes, but no voodoo or hoodoo. For the most part everyone around me is a regular Baptist or a regular Catholic here.

Yes there are many on line. They seem to live mostly in California. Not sure why, just an observation. They have an association to which most of them belong -http://www.readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/Category:Hoodoo_Conjure_Witchcraft_Rootwork

I have not used one, so I am not in any position to give recommendations, but I find the subject interesting.

I would consider them weak minded at a minimum . And if you disagree , save it . It's not up for debate with me .
