The Petro Chemical industry is slow. Small locally owned business is slow too. Seems like the restaurants and franchises are doing ok. There is some construction of apartments going on.

if i were you i'd go to the dmv in sulphur. it's smaller and quicker. go west on i-10 and take the beglis parkway exit. take right on beglis and the dmv will be in the same shopping center as the ford car lot. it will be to the right of the lot and at the end. i have lived in texas for almost 2 years and still have louisiana plates and license because it's such a hassle here to get everything done. good luck!!

check w/ the casinos. Also as far as I know the census bureau is hiring. Take the test and start going door to door. State jobs are on a freeze right now. I hear walmart is hiring on nelson road, and of course you can check w/ plants and ports.

Lake Charles is projected to grow because of the multiplier effect caused by the hiring of 1000 individuals at Shaw's nuclear manufacturing facility, as well as the hiring of 300 workers at Aeroframe at Chennault.
