Default Relocating to LA

My husband was relocated to LA an we need some advice on where to live. He will be working in Hahnville and we have looked in La Place, Luling and Metarie. We have young children and want to live somewhere where they will have amenities for children and a short commute for him to work every day. Any advice?

After Katrina, my advice would be to stay out of the levee system.

I would stay the hell out of Louisiana if I were you. But if you must there are several areas of Baton Rouge that are nice and have nice parks.

Yeah the people and the food are great. The state however is a freaking swamp.

There are swamps in the state but people do not live in them for the most part. Why does that matter anyway? The swamps are interesting places to see nature, hunt, and fish. I love the swamps and the fact that Louisiana has them.
