Default Gov. Dave Treen 1928-2009

I was unaware that Dave passed away thursday as we were dealing with severe weather and flooding that day. To those who don't know, he was the first Republican governor elected in Louisiana since reconstruction. He took office in 1980, ran again in 1983 and was defeated by Edwin Edwards.

I know he was an honest man who devoted his life to public service and was a more reserved personality than was Edwin.

Any of you who left Louisiana who remember him I thought I would post this for you. Like I said, somehow it got buried in the news as I don't recall hearing about it. Up in north La, we have been dealing with disasters lately.

Pretty good guy. I never had a problem with him. However, Louisiana should have been declared a disaster area during those Edwards years.
