I was told once upon a time that Jefferson street was similar to burbon, but I was like no way because I dont here about it. But the way that trash look out there, it looked like town evacuation out there expect they had alcoholic refreshments. I loved it. Im something like a marketer/artist, so when I saw all those art related shops around combined with social networking environments I saw dollars signs!!!!! I can make alot of money in Lafayette, I always knew that but to walk down that street I got that incredible feeling as I stepped over some horse----.
The people were magnificent compared to North Louisiana. I shook hands with people, people asked me to pull up a chair at this cafe on jefferson(it was on the corner, had a patio area, down from the children museum?)
Im still not impressed with ULL. It looks like a government housing project. Mall of Arcadia was intoxicating, bought alot and will return before the end of the year(layaway baby!!!!)
Shout out to this small bakey downtown, ummmmmm Keller's Bakery I believe.
That church was ferociously beautiful, and that tree..............Classic!!!!! St. Jean.

ULL isnt a fantastic university by any means, but there is a lot of new development and several new halls being built or just opened. budget cuts put a halt to some of it though so its slow going. Most education money goes to LSU regardless so ULL will never be truly great. It holds its own for what it is though.

well, if you drive along I49 and follow it past where it ends on Evangeline Thruway all the way to south of the airport you go across the old core of the city and its pretty rundown and there are abandoned businesses and housing alongside the road. It wouldnt be so bad if this wasnt one of the main artieres through town but thats exactly what it is, and travelers see that and never see all the development north and south of the interstates.

If you didnt get off of I49, I10 or University, you pretty much missed the entire city.
