Houma????
Hi,
I am looking for information on Houma. I have been to L.A. and N.O. in particular a few times, and loved it, but I've never been to Houma. I am interested in applying for a job there, but I don't know anything about it. Is it a good place for a 24 year old single girl? As in, does it shut down at 6 p.m.? What's to do there? What's the population like? Is it unique?
thanks

Well I am originally from Houma but now live in Baton Rouge. I am 25yrs old and while I love to visit it is not really a stay out all night kinda town. Don't get me wrong Martin Luther King Blvd. has come up a lot and when I retire I would love to live there. But for the most part Thurs, Fri, and Sat you can go out until about 2am. (depending on what you like to do) The schools are great and there are good restaurants with even more being built. Maybe if I knew a little more about what you were looking for I could be specific but for the most part I hope this helps.

I have also thought about moving to Houma. What is the town like? Is anyone worried about the next hurricane season? How is the shopping?

Schools in Houma
I am interested in any information on schools of the arts in the area. My daughter is a singer and wants to pursue singing as a vocation. She is currently in a school of the arts in California and I would like her to continue that once we relocate to Houma. Any suggestions out there?

That's something you don't hear too often from cities in general.
