I know they are beginning to build it and it's supposed to be adjacent to the Lauberge Casino. However, when is it supposed to be done? About how many more jobs is that going to bring to Lake Charles? I know the preformance stage and the casino room look nice(I saw a sneak peak of the layout). Anyway, back to the question, what's the anticipated completion date?

I think Sugarcane Bay is supposed to open in the Summer of 2011 and employ 1000 people. Of course with the US economy being so lousy, I am worried about whether they will actually complete the project by that date. Also I had read an article about the project in the BR Advocate some months ago that suggested the project has been scaled back by $100million dollars. Pinnacle is headquartered in Vegas, and Vegas is really suffering right now. Let's hope this project gets completed on time, but I noticed that plans to remodel the Grand Casino in Biloxi have been postponed indefinitely. So it is not looking good for the gaming industry right now.

SUGAR CANE BAY IS NO LONGER BEING BUILT. I find it to be very strange how Dan Lee (CEO of pinnacle) resigned... Now Larry Lapenskiy (General Manager of LauBerge Du Lac) resigned. Something is going on there. I have a weird feeling about someone steeling money somewhere out of that company. Now that the Pinnacle Board heres about it they BOTH resign and now the project for Sugar Cane Bay is scrapped....... ODD HUH?

Yeah man, I read that in the local news paper (that the project was cancelled), but I didn't know about those two guys quitting. I actually posted on that casino being cancelled.

It is odd, that it was so abrupt.
