Just curious, did they have any on the East End? We ate at the one on Dixie near Dixie Manor, but I think there was one more in town, too.

The one on Dixie was at K-Mart plaza and ended up being a movie theater and then was tore down I think and a Steak and Shake was eventually built.

No. I'm not talking about the motel 6. There is/was this tall tan/brown building (about 20 stories) that I could swear was next to the KFC next to the cinemas but before you got to motel 6. I can't be imagining it.....I drove down B-Town road every day.
I'm coming back next weekend so I'll have to drive by. I know there was some kind of condo/apt building there
|
If no one has entered it yet...
I think the name of the building you're describing is The Brown Suburban.

Anyone remember Romar Gleasons or Robert Hall (a mens store)? The Hickory House, Victoria Station, The Embassy Club, The Uptown Theaters, The Penthouse Theater, and I can't remember the name of the club in the basement - or maybe the back of - the Midcity Mall. Used to go and shoot pool there.

I don't remember it--it was waaaaay before my time--but my MOM talks about it ALL THE TIME!! lol She's always going on about the wooden rollercoaster and how she was terrified of it because you'd nearly fall out of it. I asked why she kept riding it then, and she said she never had!
Then i asked her why she was terrified of it if she'd never rode it, and she said because all her friends were.
Peer pressure?? LOL
