Does anyone have any advice on how far in advance I need to start looking for an apartment/condo for rent? I'm going to be looking in the Highlands, and I've heard that rentals can go pretty quickly, but I'm not sure if that means that the "for rent" signs will tend to show up early.

I'm planning on moving in during the first week or two of June, but the only time I'll be in the area before then to look around will be late March. My boyfriend lives nearby, so he will probably be able to look around in May as well. If that doesn't happen though, how likely is it that we'll be able to find a nice place within a couple of days of arriving in June?

Thanks in advance for any help!
