Hi Missymom, thought I'd look in since I get to Louisville so often! Was delivering to the Meijer on Dixie Hwy a couple of weeks ago; about 2 a.m. They were paving the Southbound lanes on Dixie Hwy and detoured us off (can't remember the cross street; about 2 miles N of the store) There I am, pulling a noisy 53' refrigerated trailer with no idea in the world where I was gonna go or how I'd get back to Dixie Hwy. (I'll bet the residents loved me...) So I ended up going through some neighborhood a couple of lights West of Dixie, then South and back East to get on Dixie again. I'm thankful I could get through and sure wonder why, as light as traffic was, why they couldn't have just routed the Southbound traffic over into the Northbound lanes...

Not sure if this rant even belongs here, but thanks for reading!

Honey that's Kentucky for ya! The street I am guessing was West Pages lane. I'm glad you found your way back to Dixie! I can only guess and say they didn't do that because they didn't want any backup on Dixie which can happen quickly. Nice to hear from ya!

Hi Missymom! Yeah, who knows... State DOTs don't always think things through! I tell ya, I sure enjoy sneaking into Louisville in the early hours of the morning and having the run of the freeways! I always like delivering to New Albany and Jeffersonville before dawn because downtown Louisville has such an AWESOME skyline, too!

baked_tater is on a distinguished road
I wish I had been able to come to this board before I made the mistake of moving to Louisville. The school system there ruined my son.
