Default Searching for Job in Valley Station Ky area

I've been in Louisville, (Valley Station community,) a little over a year, and am looking for a job. I'm a 53 female. What are some good places to search for jobs in this area? I am looking for something that is full time Mon-Fri. preferably a day job. I would like a job that does not require heavy lifting or using heavy equipment. I am dependable, and honest, have have gotten along with those that I have worked with. I have spent the last 28 yrs, rearing a handicapped child. I may not have a lot of out of the home experience, but have worked in custodial for a couple of years just prior to moving to the Louisville area due to husbands job move. I am looking for other type of work than custodial, unless housekeeping would not include use of floor equipment. If someone is willing to train me for a job, I would do my best, and show up to work on time. I'm looking for added income, as my husband has us covered under his health insurance. I have submitted several applications online, this last year, but never hear anything back. Do employers not interview as many online applications as in person? Would someone be so kind as to give me an idea one what is available, and would have good working conditions that I could look into for this area? I thank you for your time.

I don't know what kind of money you are looking to make but have you tried any of the stores in the area like Wal-mart or Kroger? How about the library as a paige? There is also a daycare on Ashby lane that is hiring called Doris Mae's. There's also Feeder's Supply. I don't know how many of them would allow you to only work during the week but it seems like several retirees work at the Kroger and Walmart during the day so you may just have a shot! Good luck to you and God Bless!

A wise man once wrote that he made a living during the depression of the 30's by getting hired over and over. If you want a job, get to know all you can about that job before you apply. Make up for experience with knowledge. Your care-giving is quite a valuable experience on a resume'. Do not apologize for being a loving person, use it as a proud part of your experience. As an employer, I can train you to do what I need done, but I can't give you integrity or a caring desire. Enjoy and take pride in your choices. I wish you were in the Crestwood area!

Oh something else you might consider is a nursing home as a CNA. Usually it is a six week training period and then you work as a nursing assistant and with your experience caring for a loved one that may be a good idea. There are a few in the area and an assisted living community on Stonestreet road that you might want to look into.

Thank you Mr. Cox, and Missymom.

I have my application in at a couple of the nursing/assisted care facilities, one on Stonestreet.

Thank you for your answers and encouragement.
