Post Job/Employment Networking Opportunities in Louisville

Hi y'all,
I'm a native Louisvillian relocating back home in two months and I am moving (as of now 09/13/07) without a job lined up. I know, just before Thanksgiving is awesome timing. While I am doing the standard job sites and trying to find as many job listings/employers as I can, all the job search pros & books say the best method of landing a decent job is through networking. That is why I am posting this thread; I am looking for items that can help build this network. I've been looking online but I thought I'd seek the help of those who have been there.
I am a combination IT/Accounting professional with MBA and Microsoft certifications but have worked for small employer since I moved to TX 13 yrs ago.

Does anyone have any suggestions for:
Names of professional groups/organizations to join

Resources (online or print) that list events that I could attend

Databases/lists of local employers to do the "blind resume" thing

Alternative methods of marketing myself?

Suggestions or success stories you had in landing your latest job change.

A job I could have (just joking....or am I?)

I hope and pray this post gets lots of hits!
Thanks in advance
DH

DH, How did your job search turn out? Did you go ahead and make the move? Would love to see your thoughts of living in the city 13 years later if you did go ahead with your plans.

Hope all is well! ~A~

ARJ,
I've came home in Oct to find an apartment. I don't think I've driven around town enough to get an idea of how much has changed. I didn't go downtown (other than to drive through to IN for an interview). In some ways, Louisville hasn't changed. All the growth is eastward, which is has been for the last 40 years. The Hurstbourne corridor wasn't much different. I have been back at least once every year since I moved away. I was surprised at the amount of growth past the Snyder past Brownsboro Rd. I've driven through downtown previously but have not been to 4th Street Live. Not much into bars. (BTW I worked as a waiter at a restaurant in The Gallaria in the 80s while going to Bellarmine.)

I have not yet found a job. But the move is still on for Nov.
