Turpentine is on a distinguished road
Default Guess I should have asked earlier

Hi all- I posted a bit ago about my desire to move to Louisville, as I feel it may be a good fit for me,a s opposed to the endless winter & suburban snobbery of SE WI.
What I also should have asked about was the louisville area job market. What's it like? I'm a 40 yr old mid level professional with purchasing & inventory control experience, looking for a low to mid 40's salary.

The market here is OK , I guess, but a lot of employers here realize that there aren't a surplus of decent paying jobs in the area; so as a result, they move quite slowly, are overly selective (almost to the point of being ridiculous), or play the temp-to-hire "game" in which the employee almost always loses.

I'm hoping that the Louisville area market is a bit more fair to the job seeker, as I would LOVE to be able to call the Louisville area my new home

So if anyone can give me some insight on the market, plus any good recruiters I could contact, you know I would be VERY appreciative

Thanks again all

There are jobs here, but don't let the dollars be your only guide. Louisville should have a lower cost of living (energy costs alone) than WI. You should be able to find work here, but don't wait too long.
