Default Oldham county or Shelby?

Hello, My family and I are going to be relocating to the Louisville area and were wondering what area would be recommended for our family. We have two girls ages 2 & 4 so schools are definately important and are looking to spend no more than $150k on a home. We are looking for a safe area and don't mind living in a small town as long as there are a few restaurants and grocery store. I know Oldham county has good schools and shelbyville has cheap housing. I would love some opinions on these areas and any other recommendations.

Oldham....but not until you explore the actual city, which unlike most big cities, is GREAT for families. Look around the Cherokee Park area on all sides of it.

If education is important, no place wins like Oldham County, but that being said, what is the general area where one or both adults will be commuting to and from?

We will be working on the North and East sides of Louisville. Are shelbyville schools necessarily bad or just not as good as Oldham?

You'll be fine in Oldham or Shelby. Educationally, both districts are good, but Oldham's parents are the difference. Parental involvement in Oldham is about as high as you'll find anywhere in the world.
