downtown, which i believe is where the show is, has several options. i'm not really a steakhouse guy, but jeff ruby's is one of the best meals i've ever eaten in this town, and that says a lot. proof on main is always an excellent choice. great food and atmosphere along with the fact that it's adjoined with the 21c hotel and art museum. eat dinner then walk through the gallery, it's awesome and free of charge. z's fusion is good. vincenzo's is really good pricey old school italian. high dollar and high dress.

a short cab ride away is the east market/nulu district. many, many fine eateries here. the newest is called decca. it's been incredibly reviewed and i'm happy to say i'm dining there tonight!! other nulu options include wiltshire pantry, harvest, rye, garage bar and the mayan cafe.

let me know what kind of price point your looking for and i can narrow the search for you.

wow, thanks for the info- lots of choices

as for price...well something nice but not too pricey. oh i dunno..$50 for a steak (like Ruth Chris) is a bit much - so maybe more in the line of up to $30 per person for a plate of food lol

just had a thought....a Japanese-hibachi style restaurant might be a good idea....kinda fun..for 10 people...at least we would probably get our own table

don't really know of any japanese restaurants downtown. hibachi style, that is. my advice is decca. last night was amazing and i cannot go on enough about how cool this place is. while i was there i also noticed a room on the second floor with one gigantic table for large parties. entree's are between 17-24 bux, so not too bad. great multi level courtyard and the cooleset bar down in the basement. the whole place is in an 1800's townhouse. anyway, enough of my resraurant review, lol. check out thier website for menu, but this place is already a major player in the local dining scene after three weeks of operation.

There is a Japanese-hibachi restaurant just across a river in Jeffersonville. I believe it's name is Kobi. That's just as close as anything on east Market. Go with Proof, Decca, Blind Pig, or Rye. If walking to the KY Center is a big thing for you, there is no better choice than Proof. Otherwise, I really agree with Decca.

Also within walking distance there is a new spot to open at the end of the month which should be STELLAR.
