A few years ago I drove through Louisville on the way to Ft. Knox. I didn't have time to stop, but I thought the city looked really cool. I've always thought about going and visiting for a weekend or something.

If I were to go there, what should I see? Landmarks, interesting neighborhoods, distinctive restaurants, etc.

Does Louisville have more of a Southern, Midwestern or Rust Belt feel to it? I guess the location is kind of where all three of those meet. Are there any cities that you would compare Louisville too in terms of size and culture? (i.e. Des Moines and Omaha are similar).

Thanks for your time.

Louisville is over twice the size of Des Moines and has many more amenities than Omaha. Louisville is really out of the cities leagues in terms of comparison, but in terms of national image, it is not surprising you would compare them.

Click my name and search my posts for interesting things to do. Louisville is a unique city with lots of culture.

Oh no, I meant "Des Moines and Omaha are similar" as in an example of two cities that are similar to each other, I know Louisville is substancially bigger than both.
