Default Italian Food

Hi! New to Louisville and wondering where I can find good Italian food, particularly a bakery or pastry shop that has struffoli (honey balls) so I don't have to make these for my husband this year! Thanks a bunch!

There is a local foodie community online that can answer this question much better than I. Louisville is lucky to have such a foodie community because I have not seen such a prescence in other similar sized cities. These people are so knowledgable that they know insider foodie info on Louisville and MANY other cities!

Most of the good bakeries here are German, and some of them are spectacular. But if you want an Italian bakery, I can't help. Surely there are some. I did find this from the source stx above cited:
Post subject: NORTON COMMONS LOCATION...A NEW ITALIAN BAKERY tHEY HAVE ALREADY BROKEN GROUND....DETAILS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.

I WOULD APPROXIMATE OPENING DATE ABOUT DERBY DAY.

ITALIAN OWNERS AND OPERATORS WILL LIVE ABOVE THE BAKERY AS MANY MERCHANTS DO WITH THEIR VARIOUS ENTERPRISES IN NORTON COMMONS.

NORTON COMMONS IS LOCATED IN NORTH EAST JEFFERSON AND OLDHAM COUNTIES CLOSE COSTCO, LOWES AS WELL AS THE SUMMIT.

It's hard to imagine there not being some good Italian bakeries. We have some excellent Italian restaurants. Here are the "Best of Louisville" (magazine's list, not mine):
1Vincenzo’s
2Porcini
3Volare
4Ferd Grisanti
5Rocky’sItalian Grill

Pizza
1Wick’s
2Tony Boombozz
3Papa John’s
4Bearno’s
5Za’s

I would try Lotsa Pasta on Lexington in St. Matthews. They are an amazing store and, if they don't have them, I bet they will try to get them for you or suggest someone else who might.

I had a business lunch at Vincenzo's this week. What a great guy! I love it when the owner greets you like he has known you forever. We will definitely be going back there often, and the food wasn't bad either.
