Good afternoon all. I am recently relocated from new york. I have settled in the Louisville area. Due to a divorce (husband embezzled thousands, was convicted) my credit has suffered as a result of trying to keep a roof over my head. I have a good job, great references, but cannot find an apartment. I used a so-called agency that said they would rent for me (for a fee). but they took my application fee and have disappeared into the wind. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thank you in advance

Louisville is a lot cheaper, huh? I think there are several landlords out there who will give you a shot, especially if you can show some recent bills that you paid on time and can verify the last 2-3 paychecks per month are at least 4-5 times the monthly rental asking price (i.e. if you make 3,000 per month, a landlord will likely approve you for 600-800 a month rent).
