OMG thank you all for these wonderful photos. They actually brought tears to my eyes. I miss home (louisville) so badly. (been held captive in Texas for way too long) coming home in August. If you pray, can you pray for my children and I. Thanks.

Lovin' the pics. Lousiville reminds me so much of here. Very Scottish looking buildings.

Would love to visit someday.

jeff, it is real surprising none of this has been developed...any indication it will be?
There was a string of new houses on Pauleys Gap Road, which I had to "shoot around" to catch the rural vignettes. This area is more developed than it looks, just as large lot /mini-farm development (good example is Weavers Run).

Pendleton Hill won't be developed in any big way soon, due to lack of water and sewers (at least I dont think they have these..a lot of those ridge and hill top areas are on cistern water, or used to be).

The valleys, not so sure. Depends on utilities if subdivsions go in. On the Jeff County side the high points and ridges are owned by the County Forest, so never will be developed.

The modern one in brick and concrete looks like the Humanities Building, but am not sure. If so, one of the better pieces of modern architecture in Louisville, inspired by the British "New Brutalism" movement. Its actually pretty interesting inside, too, from what I recall.
