Original Highlands

An example of the type of infill going on, this one new construction (much of the infill is historic condo rehabs). The original Highlands is one of the oldest parts of the huge area generically dubbed "the Highlands" by realtors and many locals. The homes pictured below are within walking distance of the neighborhood's main bar district, and also within walking distance of Starbucks, Thai food, Omar's Gyros and Gyro's Cafe, J Gumbo's, Jack Fry's, and many many more wonderful restaurants and clothing boutiques, one of which is Cherry Bomb.

Phoenix Lofts

St Joseph

Census Data has used the technical name for this area, but it is known colloquially as "Germantown." Pictured below are three nice busineesses near the intersection of Preston, one block north or Eastern Parkway. They are Sunergos Coffee (among the best coffee in the city), Uncle Pleasants, a a great live music venue and college hangout, and Nord's Bakery, which is also one of my favorite bakeries in the metro area.

Welcome to Sunergos Coffee

These are soooo helpful! Thanks so much for doing this.

Are you some kind of Louisville ambassador? The mayor should seriously consider putting you on the payroll, censusdata!
