censusdata, you've taken some amazing photos! I've never been to Louisville, but your photos make me want to move there - thanks again for the great online tour.

In Old Louisville a bunch. Both of those houses had 'for sale' signs in that picture. I looked them up and the asking price was $125,000 for each one.

In Portland you could get one for under $30,000.

Before Hurricane Katrina New Orleans had the most shotgun houses - now Louisville holds that distinction

Many of the shotguns in NO are being built back like they were. Most of them survived the hurricane. The flood damage did a lot to them, but typically you can just strip the walls and flooring out and it will be fine.

Talking Picture and answers

More pictures, plus a answer to Missymomof3! Hi Missy, in regard too when I was at the zoo, we came over the Thursday before Easter and went to the LZ that Friday before Easter as well as Cherokee Park to check it out [my girls loved both!]. I think your new little Elephant was enjoying the sun that day!

Weather was luckily nice and sunny in the mid-60's that day, the next two days were Brrrrr. On Easter Sunday we browsed downtown, St. James Court, and the Anchorage area. We had booked a Easter brunch on your famous Ohio Boat Cruise, but it got cancelled due to the Ohio River height/flooding. We still enjoyed our time wandering without any crowds though and ate at the Friday's in 4th St. Live.

Still attempting to figure out how to size my digital pictures so that I can put them on this site. In the mean time I will continue to post the complete set on Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing for all to appreciate. Literally took 400+ photo's on my last trip over around Easter, so I am sorting and posting them now on that site. It seems a lot of my zoomed in shots [which most are my favorites] are too tall, but at least those Meerkats from LZ I zoomed in on had no problem going onto this site! Will post a few more Zoo shots seperately that I thought were Will keep trying! Just want everybody to appreciate what I see!

You will notice several shots from your St. James Court area, along with a couple more downtown shots.

Here I believe is the direct link to my collection of Kentucky pictures on Flickr.com ...
http://http://www.flickr.com/photos/20648398@N02/sets/72157603143794787/ (broken link)

If that doesn't exactly work, just go to Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing and either search by Kentucky - Bluegrass Area or by my modus operadum...Wandering Photo Nut. Some of my older ones are being shoved off the viewing area [don't want to pay to upgrade my membership!], but my latest should be good to view now. Ciao.
