I think that casino gambling at Churchill is one thing, but not a good idea for a casino in Louisville.

That's because Orlando ISN'T a downtown of 2.5 million. Orlando is very fragmented with Kissimmee to the south, Altamonte Springs to the north, Winter Park in the middle and Ocoee to the west. These towns used to be very clearly separated but the insane growth since Disney has seen all the space between them used up for development. Orlando really isn't the center of things, not even in Orange County, where it is the county seat. I've been here for 35 years, more or less, and the insanity in getting from one place to another is one reason I am moving to Louisville in two weeks.

You also have Orlando refusing to incorporate very specific parcels of space while chasing parcels on its outskirts. Why? The money is in the outskirts and not in the little parcels surrounded by incorporated parts of Orlando itself. I would bet that half the people who list Orlando as their address actually live in unicorporated Orange County--like where my family is. No one seems to realize that just because your address says 'Orlando' you don't necessarily live in the city limits.
